Built 3 Python APIs to load internal data into SQL Server and automated Power BI dashboards, reducing manual reporting time from 30 min/week and 1 hr/month down to 20 seconds (12hrs a month and 137.5hrs a year approximately) with automated scripts via Task Scheduler and CLI scripts.
Serve as the assigned SME for the Supply Chain team in the plant. Currently working on automation and improvement of internal tools and systems.

Independently developed a TensorFlow/Keras “Open End Robot”. Developed an NLP model and pipeline using NumPy, Pandas, and ragged tensors. Partnered with an engineer to deploy it on AWS. The model achieved 90% accuracy in flagging low value or AI-generated survey responses and saved analysts 1–2 hours of manual open-end cleaning every morning.
Created and deployed eye-tracking and regular open-ended surveys online to gather data for clients.
Performed survey QA to ensure the quality of code and logic.
Reported data results for package redesigns and developed custom solutions tailored to client specifications.

Led and successfully completed 15 exploratory data analysis projects using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn) to preprocess and cleanse data, analyze it, and generate insightful visualizations for our consulting programs.

Projects

Portfolio Site Hosted on AWS with S3, CloudFront, Route53, and ACM

Deployed portfolio website using AWS S3 with static website hosting enabled, routing traffic from the internet through Route 53 to my root domain "giancarlomartinez.com" and then distributing it across the edge locations with Amazon CloudFront. Added a layer of security with AWS Certificate Manager to generate SSL/TLS certificates for the site and redirected all HTTP traffic to HTTPS to ensure encrypted traffic to my website.

AI Path Finding in Python

Developed a pathfinding labyrinth application using Pygame, featuring four selectable maze configurations. The project was designed to demonstrate the efficiency and speed of the A* algorithm in comparison to Dijkstra’s algorithm. Through interactive simulations, the effectiveness of each pathfinding strategy was analyzed, highlighting the superior performance of the A * algorithm and complex maze navigation.

Couch Potato Couriers Sentiment Analysis in R:

Utilized four distinct lexicons to assess the general sentiment of customer feedback. Employed BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers), a word embedding technique, to train and test predictive models on customer data, facilitating the development of targeted solutions for ongoing issues.

Automated Guided Vehicles Analysis:

In my capstone course, applied SQL to analyze why Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) were failing missions at Shaw Industries’ plant. We analyzed each AGV individually and other metrics such as timestamps, locations where AGVs ceased operations, and other environmental variables to identify root causes. The data helped identify and address the specific causes of these disruptions, improving AGV efficiency.

Predicting Survival on the Titanic using Machine Learning in Python:

Conducted comprehensive analysis using machine learning techniques to predict survival outcomes on the Titanic dataset. The project involved data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and implementing predictive models like logistic regression, decision trees, and random forest. The model with the "IsChild” predictor achieved the highest accuracy at 83.12%, demonstrating effective data analytics.
